Damon Motorcycles just won a Best of Innovation Award at CES 2020 in Las Vegas for its forthcoming AI-enhanced and electric-powered motorcycle. Damon Motorcycles have optimistically pronounced it as “the world’s smartest, safest and most powerful electric motorcycle.”

The Damon Hypersport has over 200 horsepower and boasts 200nm of torque at 0 RPMs, which puts it well above the power of any other electric-powered bike out there. It also has a top end speed of over 320 kph – which doesn’t sound all that safe, right?

The gambit of enhanced safety features stem from predictive AI and deep learning ‘CoPilot’ software that works in conjunction with 360º cameras and sensors. This system alerts riders to threats on the road by visually keeping track of up to 64 moving objects around the bike. It also learns from a rider’s driving habits and adjusts accordingly, using this onboard AI. This predictive AI technology was designed with the goal of delivering a smarter and safer experience for riders that aims to reduce incidents worldwide.

That’s not all either - the bike will also include 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to keep up with the always connected smart vehicle technology that consumers want. The Hypersport has a range of over 480 kilometres on the highway and over 320 in the city, and is currently available for pre-order on the Damon website.
